My Story

I was born on July 25, 1953, in Raleigh, North Carolina, into a deeply musical family. From an early age, I found my voice, singing at school events and family gatherings. My passion for music blossomed when I started writing poetry, which eventually evolved into songwriting.

At just 6 years old, I won my first talent show at school, igniting a lifelong journey in music. By 15, I began learning to play the acoustic guitar after my music teacher encouraged me to perform a song in our talent show. My father, an avid guitar player, taught me the fundamental chords, and with dedication and practice, I prepared a song for the event.

This experience became a pivotal moment in my life. Performing Simon & Garfunkel's "Scarborough Fair," I took home first place and enjoyed my first standing ovation. From that moment on, I was completely captivated by music. Soon after, I bonded with Glenn Perry, who shared my passion for music. Within three years, I launched my own country music show, made appearances on local TV, and began my songwriting career.

At 18, I joined the military, serving for six years. During that time, I formed bands and performed across North Carolina, Washington State, and Europe. After my military service, I returned to coastal North Carolina for about five years, continuing to perform locally with various bands. In 1982, I relocated to Florida to pursue a professional career as part of a country music duo.

In 1996, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to immerse myself in the music industry. I recorded my first album, "Christmas in Wonderland," in July 1997, and that same year, I established my own record label and publishing company. By 1998, I released my first album under my label, Platinum Notes Records.

I also hosted a country gospel television show on WHIG-TV in Rocky Mount, NC, for a year before returning to Nashville, where I resided for the next nine years until 20013. In 2013, I reconnected with a lost love from 1975 in Tacoma, Washington. We moved to Spokane and got married, and now we happily reside in Post Falls, Idaho.

I continue to write songs and produce albums, driven by my dream of sharing my music with the world, aiming to touch lives with God’s most precious gift—music.
